Over the past years I have had the pleasure of providing house history research services for Joel and Xavier Massey regarding a number of heritage houses being rehabilitated, restored, and renovated by their company, Ronse Massey Developments.
As a house history researcher and a heritage activist it is always gratifying to find builders and developers who are truly interested in finding out the heritage value of the house they are going to work on before commencing alterations.
They have a keen eye for unique projects and a passion for working with old houses in an innovative and sensitive way. Thanks to their efforts, a lot of Vancouver's venerable old houses have been saved from the wrecker ball and continue to stand as important witnesses to this city built heritage, the people who constructed them, and the generations of Vancouverites who lovingly called these houses home.
