Keat's Retreat

This Westcoast contemporary has large roof overhangs and pre-weathered cedar board and batten siding. The water appeal of this Keats Island beauty is high with 25ft high vaulted ceilings pulling light in and providing views out to the seashore. Reclaimed Shaughnessy mansion windows were incorporated as kitchen cabinetry doors, creating a blend of modern and rustic. Challenges due to transportation by boat, inability to use cranes, barging, and weather constraints didn’t stop progress but instead facilitated awareness of the environment and the construction’s carbon footprint.
